The more intentional you are about caring for your jewelry, the longer it will last. Remove your jewelry before doing any activity that risks physical damage. As a general care tip, your jewelry should be the last thing you put on before going out and the first thing you remove upon coming home.

What to know about wearing gold jewelry
• 14k gold jewelry is more durable than 18k gold, which is softer and susceptible to scratching and bending.
• To keep your gold jewelry looking its best, be mindful of how you wear it. Any physically challenging activity could impact your jewelry.

How to store gold jewelry
• When not being worn, store your jewelry in a safe, dry place to protect it from the elements of daily exposure.

How to clean gold jewelry
• Gold does require gentle care and occasional polishing. 
• There's an easy way to return the shine to dull gold, rose-gold, and vermeil. Place your pieces in a bowl and soak them in a mixture of warm water and mild dish soap. Leave them there for a few minutes, then rinse with water and dry with a soft piece of cloth. Rubbing gently as you dry can help you get rid of stubborn residue or dirt.

• Many colored gemstones stones are susceptible to discoloration and fading when excessively exposed to natural elements such as sun, salt water, and perspiration as well as chemical irritants like chlorine, cosmetics, and lotions.

• Do not use steam cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners on colored gemstones as they can damage or permanently discolor these stones.
